The Modern Bog Sewing Pattern (zero and minimal waste design)
[This is a digital PDF file and can only be download on a desktop computer.]
The modern BOG sewing pattern is inspired by the historical bronze age Bog Coat dating back 2000 years. Historically, the Bog Coat is constructed from a single piece of fabric and sewn together in a series of folds. This pattern is not meant to re-invent the Bog Coat, but to celebrate its simplicity of construction and provide modern garments based off the historical concept.
This design is both minimal in look and construction and the oversized boxy fit is chic and modern. The multiple design options will allow one to customize the design to their personal taste.
The modern BOG is a minimal waste design. Some of the design options and fabric widths will yield zero waste, while others will yield minimal waste. The overall goal of the design is to make a conscious effort to reduce fabric waste whenever possible. And if waste is generated, the remaining scraps are rectangular and potentially more useful for future projects.
This booklet will provide instructions to select a design template and construct the garment. All measurements on the template can easily be modified and adjusted to fit each individual body.
